Mechanism of action

The active ingredient EXPRESS® blocks the enzyme acetolactate synthase, which is involved in the synthesis of essential amino acids, in sensitive plants. Suppression of the enzyme leads to a rapid stop in plant growth and then to their death.

Duration of effect manifestation (notes)

In sensitive weeds, growth stops a few hours after treatment. Other symptoms, such as chlorosis and necrosis, appear within 1–3 weeks, and then the weeds die.
