Mechanism of action

Cruiser, 20% w.c. The action of imidacloprid is based on interference with the transmission of impulses through the nervous system of insects. Like the natural signal-transducing acetylcholine, imidacloprid excites certain nerve cells through interaction with a receptor protein. But unlike acetylcholine, which is quickly broken down by the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, imidacloprid is broken down slowly or not at all. The latter property of the product leads to a breakdown of the nervous system of insects and, as a consequence, to the death of treated individuals.

Methods and timing of use

The drug can be used using all available sprayers, including tractor, self-propelled, manual, which are in good condition and calibrated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. It is recommended to carry out the treatment in the morning or evening hours, at a wind speed of no more than 3 m/s. The highest effectiveness of the drug is achieved in the temperature range from 17 to 33°C. At temperatures below 17°C, the penetration of the drug into plants is worse, which is associated with a slowdown in physiological processes.

Impact speed

The harmful object dies when it absorbs the treated parts of the plant (or plant juice) within 1-2 hours.

Period of protective action

From 15 to 30 days, depending on the type of pest and weather conditions.
