GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Basta® is a contact desiccant based on ammonium glucosinate, intended for drying crops before harvesting. The drug is used in the phase of the beginning of the natural maturation of seeds and ensures uniform drying of plants, which facilitates harvesting and helps to obtain better products.

The drug acts through the green parts of plants, quickly disrupting the physiological processes in the cells. It is not absorbed from the soil by the roots, which makes its effect localized in the treated vegetative mass.

Basta® blocks the enzyme glutamine synthetase, as a result of which ammonia accumulates in plant cells. This leads to cell death, photosynthesis stops, and the treated plants gradually dry out.

The drug is absorbed by the green parts of plants, but is not absorbed by the root system from the soil.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Spraying is carried out in the phase of the beginning of the natural maturation of seeds, at 70-80% browning.

THE TIMING OF THE EFFECT

The first symptoms of the drug appear 5-7 days after treatment.

Complete drying of cultivated plants occurs after 10-14 days.

 Precipitation may reduce the effectiveness of the drug during the first 6 hours after application.
