ГАУР

Advantages:

  • High effectiveness against a broad range of annual broadleaf weeds, including ambrosia, goosefoot, knotweed species, cruciferous family species, and some grass weeds
  • Fast herbicidal action
  • Long-lasting protection period
  • No phytotoxicity for cultivated plants
  • Safe in crop rotation

Purpose:
Contact herbicide for controlling a complex of weeds in sunflower and onion crops.

Formulation:
Emulsion concentrate.

Action Spectrum:
Annual broadleaf and some grass weeds. Highly sensitive weeds include common ragweed, veronica (various species), smallflower galinsoga, knotweed (various species), field mustard, buckwheat (Tatar), sophia herb, fumitory, velvetleaf, common groundsel, red goosefoot, field poppy, lamb’s quarters, sowthistle, nightshade (various species), shepherd’s purse, cleavers, purslane, wild radish, yellow mignonette, chamomile (various species), field violet, field woundwort, pigweed (various species), and nettle (various species). Sensitive species: field bindweed, jimsonweed, common cocklebur, foxtail (various species), wild oat, ryegrass (various species), barnyard grass, bristlegrass (various species).

Mechanism of Action:
The herbicide inhibits essential life processes in sensitive weeds, such as photosynthesis and metabolism. Depending on the crop and application method, Gaur®* can have both a direct effect on weeds (by spraying onion crops) and an indirect effect through a protective soil "screen" containing the herbicide (when sprayed on the soil before sunflower emergence). This herbicide is contact-active and does not move within the weed plants, so achieving uniform distribution of the product on the weed and soil surface through quality spraying is crucial for maximum effectiveness.

Speed and Symptoms of Action:
Visible signs of damage (chlorosis, necrosis) appear in sensitive weeds 2–3 days after spraying, with plant death occurring within 1–2 weeks. Weed seedlings die almost immediately due to damage to the hypocotyl in broadleaf species or the growth point in grass species.

Protection Duration:
Up to three months. The product is relatively persistent in all soil types due to its strong adsorption to soil particles, ensuring a long-lasting protection period. The duration of protection depends on maintaining an intact film of the product on the soil surface. Low temperatures and low light extend the herbicide's effect, while high temperatures and light cause it to break down faster.
